We have drastically changed how the plugin works in Version 4.0. The old method in v3.7 and below will NO LONGER WORK.
We did this change so that we can fully support all themes, regardless whether they have modified copies of Visual Composer.
Also, with this new method, everything's more flexible, and more stable.
Upload the plugin zip file parallax-backgrounds-for-vc.zip in your WordPress plugins area.
Or, to manually upload it, unzip parallax-backgrounds-for-vc.zip in your computer. This will create a directory named parallax-backgrounds-for-vc, upload this folder and all its content via FTP into your wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress directory in your web server.
Activate the Parallax Backgrounds for VC plugin in your Plugins area in your WordPress adminstration.
After you activated the plugin, start editing your pages or posts.
- Click on the Backend Editor button, to start the Visual Composer editor. We do not support the Frontend Editor since it causes problems with plugins that use a Javascript.
- Create a row or a nested row if you do not have any content yet,
- Click on the plus sign to add a new element, now add any of the Row Adjuster elements that we have. You can add multiple row adjuster elements depending on what you need.
A few notes:
- The row adjuster elements adjust the IMMEDIATE row or inner row where it is placed. For example, if you create a 2 column row, then add 2 inner rows into each.. placing a full-height on the left inner row will make only that inner row into a full-height row.
- You can add multiple row adjusters into your rows. For example, you can add full-height, full-width and two or more parallax backgrounds
- Be mindful of what you place. We have made our effects fast, but remember that the more stuff you add, the slower your page's responsiveness will be. So restrain yourself from adding 2+ videos in a single row.
As an added bonus, we have included our Smooth MouseWheel WP Plugin.
The zip file for the plugin is located inside the plugins folder along with the main plugin. Just install it and your whole site will scroll smoothly.
You can adjust the scrolling speed in the Smooth Scroll Settings found in the bottom of the Settings > General admin page.
